Killing Them Softly is an American crime thriller film directed, written and screenplay by Andrew Dominik and produced by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardener, Steve Schwartz, Paula Mae Schwartz and Anthony Katagas. This film is starring from Brad Pitt, Scott McNairy, Ben Mendelson, Richard Jenkis, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, Sam Shepard based on the 1974 novel Cogan's Trade by George V. Higgins. On May 22, 2012, the film premiered in competition for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, receiving positive early reviews.
Adapted from George V. Higgins' novel and set in New Orleans, Killing Them Softly follows professional enforcer Brad Pitt as Jackie Cogan, who investigates a heist that occurs during a high stakes, mob-protected poker game. The film also features Scoot McNairy (Monsters) as Frankie, Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom) as Russell, Ray Liotta (GoodFellas) as Markie Trattman, Richard Jenkins (The Visitor) as Driver, with James Gandolfini (The Sopranos) as Mickey, Vincent Curatola as Johny Amato, Max Casella, Garret Dillahunt as Eddie Mattie, Linara Washington and Sam Shepard as Dillon, among others.
The film cinematography is done by Grieg Faser and edited by Brian A.Kates. Its is distrubuted by Weinstein Company.The Weinstein Company will distribute the film in the United States and Canada.The movie is going to release on November 30, 2012. The running time of movie is about 97 minutes.
