Bhoot Returns

Bhoot Returns (English: Ghost Returns) is an upcoming Bollywood 3D horror film directed by Ram Gopal Varma and written by Ravi Shankar. Produced by Jitendra Jain of Alumbra Entertainment, the film is presented by Eros International group. The music is given by Salim Sulaiman. Its cinematography is done by Harshraj Shroff and M.Ravichandra Thevar. The film is editted by Sunil M. Wadhwani.
The film stars J. D. Chakravarthy, Manisha Koirala, Madhu Shalini and Alayana Sharma in the lead roles. The film is a sequel to the 2003 film Bhoot Returns directed by Varma himself. It is scheduled for the theatrical release on 12th October, 2012.

With the film Bhoot, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) introduced a new age horror genre to Indian cinema. The film was a huge hit. And, now, RGV is all set with the sequel Bhoot Returns and presents the first look of the film. The filmmaker is also touted to be countering Raaz 3 with his film since Vikram Bhatt's film too falls under the same genre.
Title row
Earlier, a title Bhoot 2 was registered by producer Nitin Manmohan’s company because at that time Nitin and RGV were together. Owing to their parting, producer Nitin Manmohan, a year back announced Bhoot 2 with Vikram Bhatt as the director.
But when Vikram got to know that it was not done with RGV’s consent he backed out. As the title Bhoot 2 was registered with Nitin Manmohan the new producers of the sequel Alumbra Entertainment and Eros International repeatedly requested Nitin Manmohan to part with the title citing the original creator was RGV.
“The producers repeatedly requested Nitin Manmohan to give the copyright of the title. But he in a petty minded nature due to his previous tussle with RGV, delayed the process,” says a source close to the producers. RGV decided to end this chase for the title and changed the title of his film from Bhoot 2 to Bhoot Returns.

The film stars actress Madhu Shalini, Manisha Koirala, Alayana Sharma and JD Chakravarthy and Eros International will release the film worldwide on October 12. Bhoot Returns is RGV’s first 3D film. The film will also release in Tamil and Telugu.

The first-look poster was released in September 2012. It depicted a girl with four eyes and two noses in an optical illusion styled photograph. The poster, however, was termed as a "blatant copy" and a rip-off of an ad campaign poster made by a Mumbai based Ad-agency to spread awareness against drunken driving.
The first trailer of Bhoot returns premiered in theatres with the release of Raaz 3. It features a little girl playing with a partly visible spirit in the living room in the wee hours and the scene is being captured on a webcam. The trailer was certified an "A" rating from the Censor board of India.

E.T

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (often referred to simply as E.T.) is a 1982 American science fiction film directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy, written by Melissa Mathison, edited by Carol Littleton, music by John Williams and starring Henry Thomas, Dee Wallace, Robert MacNaughton, Drew Barrymore, and Peter Coyote. It tells the story of Elliott (played by Thomas), a lonely boy who befriends an extraterrestrial, dubbed "E.T.", who is stranded on Earth. Elliott and his siblings help the extraterrestrial return home while attempting to keep it hidden from their mother and the government.
The concept for E.T. was based on an imaginary friend Spielberg created after his parents' divorce in 1960. In 1980, Spielberg met Mathison and developed a new story from the stalled science fiction/horror film project Night Skies. The film was shot from September to December 1981 in California on a budget of US$10.5 million. Unlike most motion pictures, the film was shot in roughly chronological order, to facilitate convincing emotional performances from the young cast. Its running time is 115 minutes.
Released by Universal Pictures, E.T. was a blockbuster, surpassing Star Wars to become the highest-grossing film of all time, a record it held for ten years. Critics acclaimed it as a timeless story of friendship, and it ranks as the greatest science fiction film ever made in a Rotten Tomatoes survey. The film was rereleased in 1985, and then again in 2002 to celebrate the film's 20th anniversary, with altered shots and additional scenes.

Blood Diamond

Blood Diamond is a 2006 American political war thriller film co-produced and directed by Edward Zwick, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connelly and Djimon Hounsou. The title refers to blood diamonds, which are diamonds mined in African war zones and sold to finance conflicts, and thereby profit warlords and diamond companies across the world.

Set during the Sierra Leone Civil War in 1996–2001, the film shows a country torn apart by the struggle between government soldiers and rebel forces. It also portrays many of the atrocities of that war, including the rebels' amputation of people's hands to discourage them from voting in upcoming elections.
The film's ending, in which a conference is held concerning blood diamonds, is in reference to an actual meeting that took place in Kimberley, South Africa in 2000 and led to the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, which seeks to certify the origin of rough diamonds in order to curb the trade in conflict diamonds. The film received mixed but generally favorable reviews.

In 1999, Mende fisherman Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) is captured by the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) rebels during a raid and subsequent massacre of his village in Shenge, Sierra Leone. The REBELS put him to work as a diamond miner under the eye of warlord Captain Poison (David Harewood). Captain Poison uses the diamonds to fund their war effort. One day, Solomon recovers an enormous pink diamond while working. Hoping to keep it for himself, he buries it in a nearby riverbank; Poison discovers the truth, but before he can act, the Sierra Leonean Army assaults the mines. Vandy, the captain, and most of Poison's fighters are captured and subsequently imprisoned in Freetown.
Meanwhile, Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio), a white Rhodesian gunrunner, is arrested smuggling diamonds into Liberia. Archer had been transporting the diamonds to an Afrikaner mercenary, Colonel Coetzee (Arnold Vosloo), his former commander in the 32nd Battalion, the most decorated unit of the South African Border War. Coetzee is in turn employed by Tiara Diamond Company executive Rudolph Van de Kaap (Marius Weyers) and his deputy, Rupert Simmons (Michael Sheen). While being held in the same Freetown prison as Solomon Vandy, Archer learns of the pink diamond's existence.
Archer manages to arrange his own release from prison. He also has Solomon freed, hoping that he will lead him to this valuable diamond. Solomon begins working at a hotel. Meanwhile, Captain Poison conscripts Solomon's son Dia (Kagiso Kuypers) into the RUF as a child soldier, brainwashing him to make him a killer.
Archer visits his contacts in South Africa, including Colonel Coetzee. The Afrikaner is angry and demands that he receive some of the profits from this pink diamond. Danny remarks that he plans to use his share of the money to leave the dark continent. However, Coetzee disagrees, referencing a Shona legend that the soil of Africa is red because of all the blood that has been spilled by people fighting over the land. He implies that both of them will never leave Africa. Returning to Sierra Leone, Archer locates Solomon and offers to help him find his long lost family, especially Dia, if he agrees to lead him to the diamond. While they discuss the issue, RUF rebels launch a massive attack on Freetown. Archer and Solomon survive the initial carnage long enough to steal away from the ruined city by morning.

In Forécariah, Guinea, American journalist and humanitarian Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly), allows Archer and Vandy to infiltrate the Kono with her press convoy in exchange for information on her current story exposing the flow of "blood diamonds" out of Africa. Archer offers proof to Maddy that Van de Kaap and his Tiara Diamond Company control the market by illegally stockpiling vast amounts of diamonds to simulate scarcity. The convoy comes under attack by murderous insurgents. The three narrowly escape and eventually find their way to an encampment where Colonel Coetzee and his private army are preparing for battle; the mercenaries now intend to get their hands on the diamond no matter who or what gets in their way.
Archer and Vandy eventually leave the camp while Maddy boards a plane evacuating foreigners out of the conflict zone. The duo reach Captain Poison's diamond fields, which has been recaptured by the rebels. Solomon approaches Dia, who refuses to acknowledge his father. Archer calls the mine's coordinates in to Coetzee's forces, who subsequently launch an air strike on Poison's men via an Mi-24 Helicopter Gunship. Amidst the chaos, Solomon finds and kills Poison with a shovel. As the outgunned and now leaderless RUF force tries to flee into the jungle, they are finished off by a mercenary strike team on the ground. With the battle won, Colonel Coetzee has Dia rounded up and holds him at gunpoint. He threatens to murder the boy unless Solomon retrieves the pink diamond immediately. Archer knows that the colonel is planning to execute Vandy and his son once he is in possession of the valuable stone. He preemptively kills Coetzee and three of his soldiers, only to be mortally wounded in the process. Dia then takes advantage of the situation to hold a pistol on his father and the injured Archer. After an emotional discussion, however, Solomon manages to convince his son of his own retained innocence and Dia agrees to return home with him, having overcome his mental conditioning.

The three of them flee from the remaining mercenaries and make their way from the valley towards an airstrip atop a nearby ridge where Archer has prearranged to rendezvous with a local pilot, Nabil (Jimi Mistry), in his GA8 Airvan. Before they reach the ridge, Danny collapses from his wounds and hands over the diamond to Solomon, instructing him to take it and use its profits for himself and the benefit of his family. Archer uses an assault rifle to hold off their pursuers as the two others escape in the plane.
Bleeding to death from his injuries, Archer uses his satellite phone to make a final call to Maddy Bowen and ask her to assist Solomon. Realizing that he is dying, Maddy expresses her sorrow that she is not able to be there with him in person. The Rhodesian smuggler replies calmly that he is already where he needs to be. He grasps a handful of red soil, stained with his own blood, and dies looking out on the African landscape.
Shortly afterwards, Solomon meets with Rupert Simmons, who promises that the Tiara Diamond Company will arrange for his family to be brought to England in exchange for the diamond. Maddy secretly photographs the deal and later publishes a magazine article in which she exposes the trade in conflict diamonds, detailing Rudolph Van de Kaap's criminal actions and ruining him. Later, Solomon is seen preparing to tell of his experiences at a conference on blood diamonds in Kimberley, South Africa. His entrance to the conference meeting hall is met with a standing ovation as the film ends.

Leonardo DiCaprio as Danny Archer: Born in 1968 to a white farming family from war-torn Rhodesia, Archer fled the country after his parents were savagely murdered during the bush war. He joined the South African Defence Force in 1986, serving with some distinction across the southern subcontinent. Unwilling or unable to pursue a legitimate military career after the fall of apartheid, the unemployed soldier turned smuggler and began running arms for profit. Understandably cynical by nature, Archer continues to harbour nostalgic feelings for 'Rhodesia', refusing to acknowledge the regime change which rechristened his homeland as black-ruled Zimbabwe.
Djimon Hounsou as Solomon Vandy: A dedicated but humble family man, Vandy's greatest wish is to see his son, Dia, through a difficult education in poverty-stricken Sierra Leone. Balking at the notion that the child should become a poor, illiterate, fisherman like himself, Solomon hopes that Dia will one day enter the medical field.
Jennifer Connelly as Maddy Bowen: An American journalist who has traveled the globe extensively. She arrives in Africa hoping to document Sierra Leone's ongoing violence and raise international awareness regarding the illicit diamond trade flourishing there.
Kagiso Kuypers as Dia Vandy: Solomon Vandy's only son. The pride and joy of his loving father, Dia is eventually kidnapped by rebel fighters, who brainwash him into becoming a merciless child soldier.
Arnold Vosloo as Colonel Coetzee: A veteran military stategist, Coetzee fought in Angola during the 1980s alongside South Africa's notorious 32 Battalion. With the close of the South African Border War, he began traveling abroad in search of fresh blood to spill. Coetzee presently heads a mercenary unit in Sierra Leone with numerous ties to the diamond industry.

Ram Kapoor as Ashok Nanda and the special apperance of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol  in song "Radha"
 and "The Disco Song" respectively.

Starting with that gem, Disco Deewane, the album begins with a bang! It’s even better that Vishal and Shekhar  inimitable voice for this iconic song. The song is a much fun club song because it keeps that Disco tempo throughout, not too fast and allowing the singers to show off their talents. Sunidhi Chauhan and  Benny Dayal are in their comfort zone here, and they sound fabulous. The bridge transitions to the Ishq-wala Love, which is integrated seamlessly into the song as it ends. The song is so insanely catchy and the arrangements are brilliant, which emphasize Chauhan, Dayal, and Hussain’s melodious voices. With the iconic chorus line, it’s arranged incredibly well with Vishal’s English lines not too distracting in order for it appeal to the younger crowd.

Next is Ishq Wala Love, which is such a dreamy romantic number which works because of its minimalism. The tabla beat, and acoustic guitar complement Shekhar Ravjiani, Salim Merchant, and Neeti Mohan’s verses seamlessly. The song avoids cheesy territory because the lyrics convey those first pangs of loves so uniquely and eloquently, with the singers do justice to the material. When the orchestra chimes midway through the song, it gives the song some of that grand and sweeping scope that we expect from a Kjo romantic track. The song is just flawless, as the singers sound beautiful and the minimal arrangements on the track work in its favour for keeping this a very memorable song.

Well, it's not his fault really, is it now? The average and gullible believer truly wants to believe that these are actually century's old and rare finds. God is the biggest money spinner for him.

His wife, on the other hand, is a completely different story. She is as devout as one comes, in fact so much so, that she goes the extra mile to atone for her husband's sacrilegious babblings. Life has gone on for Kanji and his family like this, and would have sailed smoothly for him in the future as well, but for that one fine day, when a slight tremor of an earthquake shakes the city. The earthquake itself doesn't cause any concern to anyone, and would have hardly been of any consequence, but for one small problem... it causes the destruction of only one shop in the entire city... Kanji's shop!!! But Kanji, is a wily fox, he always thinks 2 steps ahead. For just such a situation, he has taken out more than adequate insurance... nothing, not even a freak earthquake can upset his life...

Fire In Babylon

2010 British documentary film

Fire in Babylon is a 2010 British documentary film about the record-breaking West Indies cricket team of the 1970s and 1980s.Featuring stock footage & interviews with several former players and officials, including Colin Croft, Deryck Murray, Joel Garner, Gordon Greenidge, Desmond Haynes, Michael Holding,
Clive Lloyd, Viv Richards and Andy Roberts, the film was written and directed by Stevan Riley and was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Best Documentary. It was the joint-winner  of the UNESCO Award at the Jamaica Reggae Film Festival 2011. The documentary describes the ascension of West Indies cricket from being a team largely composed of highly talented, entertaining, "Calypso Cricketers" to a determined unit that dominated world cricket for nearly twenty years. It begins within introduction to the West Indies Cricket Team. Using interviews with West Indian cricketing greats & other people closely associated with West Indies cricket; the idea of culturally and politically different Caribbean nations playing under the common banner of the West Indies is described. The history of cricket in the West Indies is briefly described, such as the appointment of Sir Frank Worrell as the first black man to captain the West Indies Cricket Team and the emergence of such cricketing greats as Everton Weekes, Learie Constantine, and Sir Garfield Sobers. However talented these individual cricketers were, they were unable to fetch results, resulting in the West Indies being perceived as "Calypso Cricketers"  people who were entertaining, but would ultimately lose.
The early 1970s saw the emergence of a new crop of West Indian cricketers, ones eager to shake the tag of Calypso, and who could dominate world cricket. However, it is said that when you have 10 young men from various islands in the Caribbean, you don't have a team; you have a gang. What was needed was a guiding hand, who could steer this young team in the right direction, and unite them for a common cause on the cricket field. That man was Clive Lloyd. Appointed as Captain in 1974, Lloyd's first major challenge came in the 1975-76 West Indies Tour of Australia.
Australians Dennis Lillee and Jeff Thomson destroyed the West Indies with their fast bowling. Frequent bouncers and intimidatory tactics led to the spirit of the team being shattered and the tour ended with Australia winning the six-match test series 5-1. At the end of the series, Clive Lloyd realizes that in order to win, it would be necessary for him to also cultivate fast bowlers as devastating as Lillee and Thomson.
When the Indian Cricket Team toured the West Indies in 1976, Clive Lloyd tested his new plan of attack, relentlessly getting his fast bowlers such as Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, and Colin Croft to bowl short-pitched or bouncers to Indian batsman. While playing at Kingston, Jamaica the Indian team declared on a second-innings lead of 12, after the management decided that they would rather not risk sending their bowlers such as Bishen Singh Bedi to face the fearsome fast bowling.
Convinced of the effectiveness of pace bowling as an instrument to success, Clive Lloyd's team departed to their Tour of England in 1976. England Captain Tony Greig's infamous "grovel" comment is shown in is entirety, and the effect it had on galvanising the team is described. After some highly aggressive fast bowling against the English batsmen, West Indian fast bowling is seen as being dangerous to the game. However, the West Indians feel that if the Australians could do it, so could they. Viv Richards is shown as dominating the Test series as a batsman, where he scored 829 runs in four tests with two double-centuries. Viv Richards' refusal to be badger by fast bowling is also seen as the ideal way for a batsman to deal with West Indian bowling.
The documentary then describes the struggle with their board for better pay, and how Kerry Packer eventually enticed the team to participate in World Series Cricket in 1977. World Series Cricket turns out to be a fore-runner of changes in cricket that only became permanent in the 1990s; such as coloured kits, day/night matches, and a greater emphasis on professionalism in play. The West Indian team emerges from the tournament fitter, stronger, and with a more professional outlook to the game.
The 1982 Rebel Tour to Apartheid -ruled South Africa is described. Colin Croft chooses to go, earning him a life ban from the West Indies Cricket Board. The main target of the regime, however, is international superstar Viv Richards. Richards states that he was offered "a blank cheque", but decided to not go as it would validate the state-sponsored racism pursued by the South African Government at the time.
It ends with a description of the West Indies' tour to England in 1984. With the emergence of fast bowling greats such as Joel Garner and Malcolm Marshall to take the place of Croft, the West Indies becomes unstoppable. After Gordon Greenidge's innings of 214 not out at Lord's, the West Indians become an unstoppable force; defeating England 5-0 in the five-test series. In a turn on the regular term "Whitewash" to describe such a win, the series was instead dubbed Blackwash. Its DVD release date is October 18,2012. Its running time is 120 minutes.

Fire In Babylon is the breathtaking story of how the West Indies triumphed over its colonial masters through the achievements of one of the most gifted teams in sporting history. In a turbulent era of apartheid in South Africa; race riots in England and civil unrest in the Caribbean, the West Indian cricketers, led by the enigmatic Richards, struck a defiant blow at the forces of white prejudice worldwide. Their undisputed skill, combined with a fearless spirit, allowed them to dominate the gentel game at the highest level, replaying it on their own terms.

The documentary ends with a description of how the West Indians earned the respect, admiration and love of cricket fans and even opposing teams from across the world. As the end credits roll, Michael Holding describes how between February, 1980 to March, 1995; the West Indies Cricket Team did not lose a single Test series.
